Hubba Hubba 16-Patch

I have officially finished my "girl" baby quilt.  I am hoping to have the "boy" quilt done by the end of next week.

I am naming it "Hubba Hubba 16-Patch."  It's a pretty obvious name since the fabric line used is Hubba Hubba and it's a 16-patch.  I am horrible at naming quilts.  I am curious how other people go about choosing quilt names.

Anyway, I free-motioned the entire quilt.  I am getting better at this, but have a long way to go.  I quilted a simple flower in each square, some people might think they are butterflies.  For the sashing and borders, I quilted wavy lines.

  3. Good job! I laughed when you said some people might mistake your flowers for butterflies. I doubt that's so, but used to think mine looked like squashed starfish.

  5. Oh! that pink is just yummy. Is it a Kona fabric? What's the color?

    1. No, it's not Kona. It's Bella Solids in Petal Pink.

  6. That quilt is beautiful!! Are they for someone specific? I am in the process of making both a boy and a girl baby quilt, too, and I'm on the lookout for some babies to give them to, haha! Just can't help myself. Love the way you quilted this one.

    1. Thanks! They are for someone specific. My friend is having a baby in May, but she doesn't know the gender, which gave me an excuse to make two quilts. If she has a girl, I have another friend that is having a boy in June. If she has a boy, I'm making another quilt.

  7. Hubba, hubba is a great name for this lovely baby quilt! I don't name my quilts but it sounds like a fun thing to do. Maybe I'll start.

    1. Thanks, but it's not original. It's the name of the fabric line I used. But, I do like the name anyway.

  8. It is a delightful quilt! I am terrible at naming quilts too. I wish I had counted how many I have made, then I would just assign a number :).

  9. You did a lovely job on this quilt! I also have a hard time naming some of my quilts, so I am glad to hear it's just not me! :) You did a great job on the quilting too!
